St. Louis Project Runway Finalist Hosts Fashion Show: Boundless

St. Louis Project Runway Finalist Hosts Fashion Show: Boundless

St. Louis we have another great fashion show approaching! Shan Keith is a finalist from Project Runway: Under the Gun and he is hosting a Fashion show this Sunday 10/26 to showcase his latest collection. Under the Gunn is a Lifetime series hosted by Tim Gunn. 15 up and coming designers are selected for the show and paired up with celebrity mentors to help lead them to success on the runway. Shan made it to the final rounds in one of the last seasons in addition to winning  three of the rounds. Success does not come easy though!  Shan tried out for the show four different times  before he was selected. Talk about resilience!  You can view Shan’s designs from the show here. http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/under-the-gunn/season-1/rate-the-runway/episode-13#id=16

To me there is nothing better than hearing about self taught designers. Where did they possess these gifts?! They were created to be great! Shan is self-taught and originally picked up sewing from his mother. He has been designing for quite a while, but only as a side hobby to his 9-5 job.  It was not until he was laid off from his real job that his wife encouraged him to follow his dreams and pursue fashion full time. What I really enjoy about Shan’s designs is that he found a way to incorporate his family. Shan a father of three has designed kids collection using his children as models.

This clothes for children by the way are adorable! Check them out here http://www.stlamerican.com/entertainment/living_it/article_18a2f674-91cd-11e2-8d82-001a4bcf887a.html?mode=image&photo=4

How would you describe Shan’s designs? He seems to incorporate a lot of patterns in his designs, but from what I have heard he is very resourceful is using fabrics that he already has. His looks are very trendy and wearable items. I am excited to see his latest collection as I missed him at Missouri Style Week earlier this year. Shan is a St. Louis native and I think it is very important that St. Louis come out and support him on Sunday! I will be present at the event and I hope that you will join me! I will be sitting down with Shan for an interview where I hope to learn more about his inspirations and what can his fans expect from him in 2015. Please stay tuned for the full interview!
