Boundless Fashion Show Recap!
St. Louis Fashion Designer Shan Keith put on “Boundless” fashion show last Sunday at Plush. Shan Keith was a finalist from Project Runway: Under the Gunn 2013 season. Under the Gunn is a Lifetime series hosted by Tim Gunn where 15 up and coming designers are paired up with celebrity mentors to help lead them to success on the runway. After trying out for the show four different times, Shan not only made the show, but it to the final rounds.
Shan is a self-taught designer who after being laid off from his 9-5 job and with the encouragement from his wife, decided to pursue fashion full time. Sunday’s show was entitled “Boundless” and featured his Fall collection.
After the show, Shan was recorded stating he didn’t want to feel restricted by anything in this production and that he just wanted to be himself; hence the name Boundless. Shan also mentioned his love for black and whites (the colors), how he believes together they are signature and don’t have to be confined. In this collection you will see just that, a lot of black and whites, patterns and animal prints! Continue scrolling for a full look at the collection. This is boundless!
Above are some of my favorite looks from the show. The model in all red is my absolute fav! The combination of the dark rich red suede and leather is very classy and chic and those suede red booties really set off the outfit!
The male model to the right of her is wearing my favorite of Shan’s male designs. That jacket is everything and again the combination of leather and suede really pops!
Animal print should be a go-to-piece in every women’s closet. It is timeless and it continues to be a top trend year after year. Shan did a great job of incorporating this trend into his collection. My favorite animal print piece is the model on the far right (pictured above). The pants she is wearing bring together a leopard legging and leather like chaps. Very sexy!
The look the male model is wearing on the far left (pictured above) is also one of my favorites, although I’m not sure if it is the clothes or the model (ladies I’m just saying)! Shan uses a combination of three different patterns in the sweater that work very nicely together. Paired up with the black slacks and dress shoes, very clean look!
Both the ladies are killing in all white (pictured above)! The all white pants suite is very classy. You can wear it to the office or dress it up and wear it out. The high-low skirt which was very in this year combined with the white crop and jacket is a very fresh fun look as well!
I went backstage before the show and captured a couple photos. Pictured above is a crown that one of the male model is seen wearing during the final walk.
North County Technical High School Assistant Principal Ronda Wallace is pictured above with her students and students from Normady High School. The two schools partnered to provide a handful of student interns to help out backstage before the show. I would have loved to be involved with something like this in high school, how fun!
My outfit for the evening (pictured above) . Although it was a rather warm day for October, I was going for a fall look; and no fall look is complete without your boots! What set off this look was my tall gray suede Jennifer Lopez boots (purchased at Kohls last season) and my scarf. Although I’m wearing a black and white patterned cape, I decided to bring in the brown patterned scarf as well . This is something that I don’t think most people would have done, but I thought the scarf would pop and create the contrast the outfit needed. What do you think?
So that is not my bag. The gentleman to the right (I’m sorry I forgot their names) purchased the bag for his mom, YES his mom! That is a very rad bag, but I’m not sure that my mom could rock it (no offense mom)! He was very excited to buy it for her so I hope she enjoys it!
